Yvonne Tchavdaroff was born in the commune of Malause in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region, France, on 28 October 1913.
Throughout her adult life, she worked as a milliner and supported her husband, who was a tailor, by working from home. She had moved to Toulouse in 1938. She had a son, Jean-Claude.
In retirement, she took up painting and exhibited her work in several art salons, even winning an award for one of her pieces. She celebrated her 110th birthday at Toulouse City Hall, where she was awarded the Ville Rose Medal in person. Additionally, Anne Stambach-Terrenoir, the deputy of her constituency, presented her with the National Assembly Medal. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she shared that it was due to never having moved into a retirement home; she had lived in her own home for nearly 50 years. At 110, she could no longer hear well or see much, but she still felt in great shape, receiving regular visits from nurses and housekeepers, which greatly helped her stay independent.
Yvonne Tchavdaroff passed away in Blagnac, Haute-Garonne, Occitania, France, on 22 March 2024, at the age of 110 years. She was survived by her son, two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 2 December 2023. This validation has yet to be recognized by LongeviQuest.
