BIOGRAPHY

Yoshino Ide was born in Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture on January 1, 1896.

Her husband died early, and she worked as a seamstress and raised her four children alone.

She moved into a nursing home in July 1999. In September 2000, she became the oldest person in Sumoto City, and on August 27, 2004, she became the oldest person in the prefecture.

In 2004, when she was 108 years old, she took care of her personal appearance, including her dress and hairstyle when she had guests over.

When she was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as “the world’s top 10,” she said, “Thank you, thank you,” and she was thrilled.

She died on January 28, 2009 at the age of 113 years and 27 days.

RECOGNITION
