Shizue Tsuji [Japanese: 辻シズヱ] was a Japanese supercentenarian.
Shizue Tsuji (辻シズヱ) was born in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, on November 22, 1900.
Upon her marriage in 1932, she moved to Yokkaichi City, where she had one son and was later blessed with two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In her later years, she often stayed in bed due to back problems, but she enjoyed watching period dramas and similar television programs. She attributed her longevity to living a disciplined life and eating nutritious foods such as fresh vegetables and fish without being picky. Even while bedridden, she made an effort to stretch her body regularly.
Tsuji passed away from acute pneumonia in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, on May 16, 2011, at the age of 110 years and 175 days. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living person in Mie Prefecture.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 25 June 2011 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
