BIOGRAPHY

Ishida was born in the village of Niage in Yamamoto District (now part of Noshiro City), Akita Prefecture, Japan, on 10 March 1910. At one point in her life, she married and had three sons, but her husband died in 1955, leaving her to raise them on her own. After moving into a nursing home when she was around 90 years old, she suffered from serious illnesses, but each time she recovered.

Ishida passed away in Ōdate, Akita Prefecture, Japan, on 10 May 2020, at the age of 110 years, 61 days. At the time of her death, she reportedly had six grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yu Li, and validated by LongeviQuest on 9 April 2024.
