Mabel Agnes “Mamie” Wilson was an American supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Mabel Wilson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 18 March 1903. She was a devoted musician who played the church organ and taught piano to the children in her family. She remained active well into old age, moving to an assisted living facility only in 2011.

According to her great-niece, she was calm and reserved, and right up to the last day of her life, she remained lucid and communicative with her family. She never behaved as though she were old and often joked about not being old at all.

Mabel Wilson passed away in Deptford Township, New Jersey, on 12 August 2014, at the age of 111 years, 147 days.
