Luisa Romano was born in Nocera Inferiore, Campania, Italy, on 1 May 1908. She had three children. In 1979, she moved to Porto Sant’Elpidio.
At the age of 108, it was reported that she was a passionate Inter Milan fan, continuing to follow her favorite team on TV. Her dedication was so strong that Inter Milan honored her with a medal and a letter of congratulations from the players.
Luisa Romano passed away in Fermo, Marche, Italy, on 4 September 2018, at the age of 110 years, 126 days.
Following the passing of 109-year-old Maria Sebastiani (24 June 1907 – 13 June 2017) of Urbisaglia, she became the oldest (known) living person in the region of Marche, at the age of 109 years, 43 days. She held the title until her own passing in September 2018, when she was succeeded by Aldesina Rossi.
Her age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio and Alessandro Delucchi, and validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 15 November 2024. The validation was recognized by LongeviQuest on 5 January 2025.
