BIOGRAPHY
Giuseppa Patinella was born in Lercara Friddi, Sicily, Italy on 21 January 1907. Her parents were Salvatore and Rose DiPrima. She had 5 siblings: Jack, Salvatore, Prudy, Joseph, and Mary.
She came to the United States in May 1921 with her mother and two brothers, Jack and Salvatore. They lived in Brooklyn, New York. She was very talented in sewing and learned fast that she could make a living at this occupation. Ten years later the rest of her family came to the United States.
Josephine married Frank Patinella on 6 March 1938. The couple had three daughters: Dorothy, Rose, and Joan. She had eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Patinella passed away in La Mesa, California, USA on 20 February 2017 at the age of 110 years, 30 days.
