Françoise Grisanti (née Piétri) was a French supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) and recognised by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Françoise Grisanti was born in the commune of Casabianca in the department of Haute-Corse, in Corsica, France, on 28 October 1902. Her parents were Antoine Louis Pietri (1858–1929) and Ursule Marie Angeli (born 1857). She had nine older siblings: Thérèse, Marie Françoise (1885–1891), Paul Louis (1886–1887), Paul (1888–1906), Julie Marie, Marie Françoise (1892–1977), Jules, Georges, and Marie.

On 5 May 1927, aged 24, she married Jacques Charles Grisanti (1903–1989) in Teghalimet (then Tirman), Algeria. They had two children: Philippe Antoine and Jacqueline Ursule Marie.

Françoise Grisanti passed away in Casabianca, on 2 February 2014, at the age of 111 years, 97 days. She was survived by her daughter Jacqueline Moracca, as well as six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

Grisanti’s age was verified by Antoine Demarais, Cyril Depoudent, and Luc Le Lay of Les Grands Centenaires Français, and was validated by the ESO on 26 February 2020.
