Ethel Jane Boltz (née Shimer; formerly Stalnaker) was an American supercentenarian . Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Ethel Boltz was born in Annamoriah, West Virginia, USA, on 2 December 1903. Her parents were Sherman Smith Shimer (1868–1942) and Mary Catherine “Kate” Hays (1876–1962). She had five brothers, Howard, Harvey, Ernest, James, and Earl Shimer, and two sisters, Myrtle Villers and Minnie Davis.

She attended school in Calhoun County and devoted herself to being a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing, often making dresses for the girls in her church. A devout Protestant, she held a deep faith in God and found great joy in attending church services.

She first married Hagen Stalnaker, with whom she had one son, Harland Stalnaker (1921–1979). The marriage later ended in divorce. On 28 July 1928, in Calhoun, West Virginia, she married Emmanuel Boltz. Together they had three children: James Boltz (1930–2016) and Donald Boltz Sr. (1935–2019). Emmanuel passed away in 1959.

Ethel Boltz passed away in Beverly, West Virginia, on 1 April 2016, at the age of 112 years, 121 days.
