Chiyo Kurio (Japanese: 栗尾チヨ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Chiyo Kurio (栗尾チヨ) was born in Serikaku, Chinachō, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, on 20 September 1898.

In her youth, she worked for about 30 years at a spinning mill in Gifu Prefecture before returning to her hometown of Chinachō, where she devoted herself to growing vegetables.

At the age of 100, according to her nephew, her legs had become weak, but her eyesight remained good. She was talkative and often shared stories from the past.

Kurio passed away in Chinamachi, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, on 2 August 2009, at the age of 110 years and 316 days.
