Annette Sabourin Brunet was born in Très-Saint-Rédempteur, Quebec, Canada, on 4 January 1912. At some point, she got married and became a mother of four children—Micheline (whom she outlived), Claudette, Jacques, and Lorraine. For a decade, she ran a hair salon in Rosemont, where her daughters worked alongside her.
At the age of 83, she moved in with her daughter Lorraine. At the age of 100, she survived a femur fracture. At some point, her daughter Lorraine moved to Mascouche with her mother, and they lived together for nearly nine years. They both resided at home until she turned 107, at which point she moved into the CHSLD Vigi Yves-Blais nursing home in Mascouche. She celebrated her 112th birthday surrounded by family, staff, and the mayor of Mascouche. She was described as a very sociable person who enjoyed having visitors.
Annette Sabourin Brunet passed away in Mascouche, Quebec, Canada, on 8 April 2024, at the age of 112 years, 95 days.
On 26 October 2023, following the passing of Simonne Leduc, she became the oldest (known) living person in Quebec, at the age of 111 years, 295 days. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Margaret Romans.
At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest (known) living person in Canada, behind Helen Doan and Gertruda Górecka.
