BIOGRAPHY

Adelia Aragão da Silva was born in Queimadas, Paraíba, Brazil, on 20 December 1916.

At 108 years old, her hearing had declined, and she walked with the help of her daughters, but she never lost her joy. She still loved playing dominoes and often reminisced about her years of hard work managing the household. Her health remained good, with normal blood counts, and she continued to go for regular check-ups. She maintained a healthy diet, having eaten natural foods since she was young. At the time, she commented: “I ask God for everyone who is here and those who are absent. I feel happy because everyone is doing well. I’m this old, but I’m very happy!”

When asked about the secret to her longevity, she simply said, “I worked, I slept, I ate.” Her daughter commented: “Her life is so long, and I attribute it to God. She always praised and worshiped Him. I believe her longevity is a blessing from God!”

A mother of 12, she had three surviving children at 108, along with 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Gabriel Ainsworth and Iara Souza, and validated by LongeviQuest on 19 March 2025.
