Rosina LeVasseur (née Boragine) is an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Rosina LeVasseur was born in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, on 20 March 1916. She raised in Peace Dale, Rhode Island along with her four siblings, Freda, Eva, Joseph and Sylvia. As a youngster, she helped make sandwiches at her parents booth at the county fair as well as labeling the bottles of gin that her father made in the basement and sold to a local store. Each of the children had a ‘special’ job — hers was making pies for the family dessert. Her specialty pie for her own family was apple.

She married Denis LeVasseur on 26 February 1949. They met when she went home with Denis’ cousin Bea Thibeau during a college break — it was love at first sight. Rosina was a school teacher in both Fort Fairfield, Maine and South San Francisco, California. Denis and Rosina moved west when Denis was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco and they never left California. They raised their two children in San Bruno — Jerry LeVasseur (Vicky) of Goldendale, WA and Denise Tober (Larry) of Drytown, CA. They retired to Pioneer in 1971.

Rosina enjoyed traveling in her retirement and has always been a passionate Giants fan. She seldom misses either listening to or watching a Giants game on television and can always tell you whether they won or lost. One of her greatest treasures is the letter she received from the Giants organization for her 108th birthday.
