On October 27, Rosaria Martorana, the second-oldest living person in Sicily, Italy, celebrated her 110th birthday in Ragusa. Her birthday was first reported by La Sicilia.
Rosaria Martorana was born in Ragusa on 27 October 1914. She married and had four children, all of whom she outlived. She remains in regular contact with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, some of whom she connects with via video calls.
To celebrate her 110th birthday, a large party was organized in her honor at the retirement home where she still resides, with local dignitaries in attendance, including Bishop Giuseppe La Placa and Mayor Peppe Cassì.
At the moment, she is the second-oldest living person in Sicily, following 111-year-old Maria Novara of Paceco.
