BIOGRAPHY

Josino Levino Ferreira was born in Areia, Paraíba, Brazil on 3 April 1913. For his entire career, he worked as a farmer. He married Sebastiana Ana da Conceição in 1941, and the couple had children. The couple moved to Coronel Ezequiel, Rio Grande do Norte following their marriage, and remained together for nearly 60 years until Sebastiana Ana’s death in 2001 at the age of 87.

He currently resides in Coronel Ezequiel, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, at the age of 111. As of 2024, he has 3 living children, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

In 2023, he was featured by two television news outlets as a tribute.

His age was verified by Gabriel Ainsworth, Iara Souza, and Maria Lindacir, and validated by LongeviQuest on 10 January 2024.

On 25 November 2024, following the passing of 112-year-old John Tinniswood, he became the world’s second-oldest living man, following only his fellow countryman João Marinho Neto from the state of Ceará.

On 4 December 2024, at the age of 111, he was presented with the LongeviQuest commemorative plaque, recognizing him as the second-oldest man in Brazil.
