Luisa Maggioni, a resident of Baixo Guandu, Espírito Santo, Brazil, celebrated her 112th birthday on 19 July. She is currently the State’s oldest documented resident.
Luisa Maggioni was born in Baixo Guandu on 19 July 1913. She had eight children, of which three are still living–the oldest of which will be 91 in September 2025. She has spent most of her life in the countryside.
At 112, she is almost completely deaf and no longer speaks, making communication difficult. Despite this, she is well cared for, and her daily routine is maintained by her family. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Luisa Maggioni on her 112th birthday. We would also like to thank her family for sharing photos of the celebration with us through our Brazilian researchers, Gabriel Ainsworth and Iara Souza. We hope she had a wonderful day and wish her many more years of health and happiness.
