Elsie Sprous, a resident of Glen Carbon, Illinois, celebrated her 110th birthday on 8 July, according to KSDK.
Sprous was born on 8 July 1915. She had at least one child. She reportedly never smoked or drank, and was once an avid runner. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she jokingly replied, “Keep moving. If you get in a chair, you’re gone.”
On her 110th birthday, she was honored with the Glen Carbon Good Citizen Award. It was said that she was still able to care for herself — dressing up, brushing, and even cutting her own hair.
