Ebe Tosi, the oldest living person in the Italian region of Liguria, passed away in Genoa on 5 February, at the age of 111 years, 206 days, according to Supercentenari d’Italia.
Tosi was born in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, on 14 July 1913 (claimed 11 July). She married twice, but had no children. In 1946, she voted for Italy to become a republic; she moved to Genoa, Liguria, following the death of her first husband.
As a centenarian, Tosi was devoutly religious, attending church services regularly until the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she would watch the services on the television. She was also a football fan, had a strict daily routine, and had never smoked. At the age of 105, Tosi moved into a nursing home in Genoa.
On 16 March 2024, following the passing of 112-year-old Ines Sommovigo, she became the oldest living person in the region of Liguria. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Marie Louise Tortech.
Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
