On 27 January 2025, our team had the honor of visiting Kiyo Komatsu (小松 きよ) at her home in Asaka, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, to celebrate her 114th birthday.
Despite her remarkable age, she continues to lead an independent life with minimal assistance. We were truly impressed by how she moves around her home unassisted and even climbs the stairs to her second-floor room to bathe or spend time with her family.
We have now released a full video report from our visit, where you can hear Komatsu-san share her incredible life story in her own words. Among other highlights, you can see her sharing coffee and a heartfelt conversation with Yumi Yamamoto, President of LongeviQuest Japan, all while showcasing her lively humor and vibrant spirit that remains unchanged even at 114.
We would like to take this opportunity to once again express our gratitude to her family for welcoming us into their home and allowing us the honor of meeting Komatsu-san in person. We sincerely wish her continued health and happiness and we hope to meet her again.
