Sarah Piper, the oldest known living person in the British overseas territory of Montserrat, celebrated her 108th birthday on 18 February, according to Montserrat Focus.
Among the attendees were Deputy Premier Veronica Dorsette-Hector, Acting Social Services Minister Crenston Buffonge, and Governor Sarah Tucker. The Deputy Premier conveyed a message to Piper on behalf of Premier Reuben Meade. The Governor personally delivered a birthday card from King Charles III and a gift basket from the Governor’s office.
Only two other people are known to have reached the claimed age of 108 in Montserrat. One was Josephine Ann Ponde (1908–2017), who lived to 109, and the other was supercentenarian claimant Isley Bobb (1893–2003), who reportedly passed away at 110 years and 137 days. However, his age has not been officially validated.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Sarah Piper on her 108th birthday.
