Natividad González Colón, a resident of San Salvador, Caguas Municipality, Puerto Rico, passed away on 18 January, just one week shy of her 110th birthday. Her passing was first reported by the Organized Community of San Salvador on their Facebook page.

Better known as Doña Tiva, she was born in Caguas on 25 January 1915. She married Alejandrino Reyes Galarza, affectionately known as “Andro,” and together they had five children: Antonio, Hipolito, Lydia, Georgina, and Rosa Maria. At the time of her passing, she also had 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Doña Tiva was the first catechist in her neighborhood and was an active member of the Chests of the Sacred Heart (Cofradas del Sagrado Corazón) and the Legion of Mary. She worked tirelessly as a housewife and frequently accompanied her husband to the farm to gather coffee and tobacco.

At the time of her passing, she was the third-oldest (known) living person in Puerto Rico.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Natividad González Colón during this difficult time.
