Modesta Vivas, a resident of Valbonne in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, passed away on 14 December 2024, at the age of 110 years, 204 days.
Modesta Vivas was born in Godoy Cruz, Mendoza Province, Argentina on 24 May 1914. At some point, she arrived in France alone to flee the Spanish Civil War, during which her parents had returned to Spain, and subsequently became a seamstress.
At the age of 106, she was reported to still have a robust character and demonstrated a clear understanding of her desires and aversions.
