Bragança Paulista, São Paulo Iracema Camargo de Araújo, one of the oldest living residents of the Brazilian state of São Paulo, turned 110 years old on October 5th.

Iracema Camargo de Araújo was born in the Mãe dos Homens neighborhood of Bragança Paulista, São Paulo, Brazil, on 5 October 1914, one of ten siblings. However, since her claimed date of birth is September 26th, that’s when her birthday celebration was held. She attended the State School José Guilherme, the Doctor Jorge Tibiriçá Municipal School, and the Educational Institute Heart of Jesus.

At some point, she married Tércio Pereira de Araújo, a train driver and mechanic at the Bragantina Railway. The couple had three children: Maria Lúcia, José Geraldo and Jair. Her husband passed away in 1966.

In 2020, a public road within the Euroville II Subdivision in Bragança Paulista was formally renamed in her honor.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Iracema Camargo de Araújo on her 110th birthday. We would also like to express our gratitude to the family for providing the photos and video from the celebration.
