L’Aiguillon-la-Presqu’île, Pays de la Loire — Frenchwoman Lucienna Tranchant celebrated her 110th birthday on October 10th. Her birthday was first reported on Facebook.

Tranchant was born on 10 October 1914. She grew up in Châtellerault (Vienne), and as a child, she was nicknamed the “American” because she knew how to play tennis, swim, row, and canoe—activities considered quite modern for the time. Her grandfather worked as the caretaker of a summer sports club, giving her access to all these sports. Staying active became a lifelong habit for her.

Tranchant continued doing aquagym until the age of 97, walked regularly until she was 100, and danced until she was 105. She greatly appreciated the birthday celebration because the mayor visited her and gave her gifts. Moreover, while toasting with family and friends, she said “110 years, it goes by so fast.”

LongeviQuest sends our warmets greetings for Lucienna Tranchant’s 110th birthday. May she continue to be an inspiration to all of us.
