LongeviQuest is pleased to announce that the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) has validated the age of Flora Vignoli on 18 August 2024.

Flora Vignoli was a validated supercentenarian born on 28 November 1904 in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

She had spent most of her life living in the historic center of Bologna. At some point in her life, she got married to Argo Martinelli and had three children with him.

During World War II, her husband was kidnapped and taken away on a truck with an unknown destination. Despite not knowing how to ride a man’s bicycle, she bravely used one to search for him, eventually finding her husband in San Giacomo del Martignone and bringing him home.

Vignoli celebrated her 110th birthday surrounded by family. She was visited by Councilor Paolo Balbarini, who brought warm wishes and greetings from the community.

She passed away on 7 February 2015 in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, at 110 years old.
