LongeviQuest is pleased to announce that the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) has validated the age of Maria Venerando on 18 August 2024.
Maria Venerando was born on 10 December 1904 in Gravellona Lomellina, Lombardy, Italy.
After the onset of the Great Depression in 1929, she and her husband moved to Turin. In Turin, the couple initially settled on Via Lombriasco before moving to Via Lancia.
When asked about the secret of her longevity, her son remarked that she ate a bit of everything but in very small quantities, and her body functioned well even at 110. Venerando remained completely independent until she was 104. Until the spring of 2014, she was cared for by her son and daughter-in-law.
Maria Venerando passed away on 18 December 1914 in Turin, Piedmont, Italy, at 110 years old.
