LongeviQuest is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), we have identified Japan’s new oldest living man. Verified by the MHLW in August, the 110-year-old Tokyo resident assumed the title following the passing of Tomisaburō Wakui on 5 July 2024.
The gentleman, whose name has been withheld for privacy reasons, was born on 23 January 1914, making him 110 years and 226 days old as of 5 September 2024. He is less than two months younger than the previous titleholder, Wakui.
LongeviQuest validated his age on 2 September. Currently, he is the fifth-oldest (validated) living man in the world, according to the LongeviQuest Atlas.
