LongeviQuest is pleased to announce that the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) has validated the age of Olga Abate on 9 July 2024.
Abate was born in San Lorenzo, Calabria, Italy, on 20 May 1913.
Abate passed away in Saint Albans, Victoria, Australia, on 5 June 2024. She was survived by her son Umberto, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
On 26 January 2024, following the passing of Catherina van der Linden, she became the oldest (known) living person in Australia. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Ken Weeks.
