Bilbao — The oldest living resident of Basque County, Spain, Ignacia Miranda Mata, celebrated her 110th birthday on July 31st. Her birthday was first confirmed by the Deia.
Miranda Mata was born in the town of Cereceda, Province of Burgos, Castile and León, on 31 July 1914. As a child, she spent her time helping at home by cleaning, cooking, and taking care of her siblings. She was the middle child of five.
At 110, she remarked that she still wasn’t bored with life, expressing that she doesn’t want to waste time on regrets. She enjoys chatting, playing cards, and watching television.
She met her future husband at a festival in Cereceda. Some time later, the couple married and had five children together. However, she was widowed at 49 and subsequently moved to Bilbao.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Miranda Mata on her 110th birthday.
