The oldest known living resident of the U.S. state of Maryland, Mrs. Clarice Patterson, passed away on May 28th, at the age of 111 years, 151 days. Her passing was confirmed by the Wylie Funeral Homes.

Mrs. Patterson was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, on 29 December 1912.

After graduating from Frederick Douglass High School and Morgan State University, Patterson earned a degree in business. She married and had three children. She worked for the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks as a director of the Cahill Recreational Center until she retired in 1983.

On 23 April 2024, she became the oldest (known) living person in Maryland.
