It is with a heavy heart that LongeviQuest reports Pearl Berg’s demise at 114. She was an American supercentenarian known as the second-oldest person in California, at the time of her death. She passed away on 1 February 2024.
Pearl Berg was born on 1 October 1909 in Evansville, Indiana, United States. She spent her childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before moving to Los Angeles, California, in 1930. Less than a month later, she met her future husband, Mark Berg. She and Mark were married in 1931, and they had two sons together.

After Mark Berg passed away in 1989, Pearl joined a book club, attended concerts and plays, and involved herself with a bridge group, all so that she can still have a healthy social life. She can drive until her mid-90s and was an active member of the Temple Israel’s Sisterhood.
