New Validation: Fumie Matsuda (1911-Present) of Japan

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Fumie Matsuda at 112 years old. She is a Japanese supercentenarian recognized as the third-oldest living person in Hokkaido Prefecture.

Fumie Matsuda was born on 31 March 1911 in Japan. Throughout her life, she maintained her religious practices in Buddhism by singing hymns like “Baikaryu Ei Sanka.”

In June 2011, the elderly club from her neighborhood organized a park golf tournament to celebrate Matsuda’s longevity. It was her first time playing the game but was able to sink the ball into the hole placed 20 feet away. Her immediate reaction after achieving a birdie was, “It’s addictive.”

In September 2018, Matsuda was officially recognized as the oldest person in the Ishikari Promotion Bureau of Hokkaido Prefecture at age 107. Recently, it was claimed that she was the third-oldest living person in Hokkaido Prefecture.

Fumie Matsuda is currently residing in Chitose, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan.
