LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Shiki Fukuda at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian recognized as the oldest living person in Ōita Prefecture before passing away.
Shiki Fukuda was born on 1 September 1908 in Bungotakada, Ōita Prefecture, Japan.
At some point in her life, she got married and accompanied her husband to live in Taiwan due to his work. Shiki returned to Japan with her family before the end of World War II, and they lived in Kitsuki, Ōita Prefecture. Her husband passed away when she was 38 years old, so she was left to take care of their five daughters.
Shiki Fukuda taught in elementary school.
Mrs. Fukuda was physically active as she continued to cultivate vegetables in the field until she was 103 years old. She only joined a nursing home when she reached 107 years old. Moreover, she was still able to dress herself without needing any assistance when she was 109.
Shiki Fukuda passed away on 6 April 2020 in Ōita, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. She reached the age of 111 years old at the time of her death.
