New Validation: Kikue Shimada (1909-2020) of Japan

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Kikue Shimada at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian born on 15 February 1909 in Japan.

At some point in her life, she married a lawyer. Moreover, she lived in Manchuria during World War II.

She used to ride a roller coaster even after turning 80 years old. Even at the age of 100, she was still able to travel from Fukuoka to Tokyo by plane to attend her grandson’s wedding.

Mrs. Shimada liked to talk with her grandchildren about wars and historical events. She also mentioned that her teenage years were the happies time of her life.

She was recognized as the eight-oldest living person in Fukuoka Prefecture in September 2019.

Kikue Shimada passed away on 19 March 2020 in Minami-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. She was 111 years old at the time of her death.
