LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation for Emilia Canché Caamal at 108 years old. She is currently the oldest known Mayan woman in Mexico, and the oldest known living person in the state of Quintana Roo.

Mrs. Canché Caamal was born into a Mayan family in Tekit, Yucatán, Mexico, on 28 May 1915 (claimed 1914). At some point, she married Augusto Nahuat Soberanis and the couple had three daughters and two sons.

In the 1950s, she moved to José María Morelos, Quintana Roo, where she worked as a midwife. Many local people from that community recognized the service that she provided to low-income families by bringing 20 children into the world.

She currently has 33 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren, and 61 great-great grandchildren.
