LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Hisa Ono (Japanese: 小野ヒサ) of Saga Prefecture, Japan. She was born in Shiroishi, Saga Prefecture, Japan on 8 December 1905 and passed away in Ogi, Saga Prefecture, Japan on 4 September 2019 at 113 years old.

Mrs. Ono’s father was the mayor of Shiroishi Village and a bookstore owner. She helped run her family’s bookstore until she was 20 years old. Mrs. Ono then married her husband Goro, a Japanese school teacher in South Korea. They had four children. After World War II ended, she returned from Korea with her family and ran a clothing store with her husband in Shiroishi.

At the age of 106, she became the oldest living person in Ogi City. Every September of years 2012 to 2018, the Ogi City Public Relations Paper publishes her name in her honor.

At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in Saga Prefecture, after Mrs. Shigeyo Nakachi of Saga City.

Mrs. Ono’s age was also verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW).
