LongeviQuest is delighted to share the 112th birthday celebration of Helene Sandvig. She is an American supercentenarian currently known as the second-oldest living person in North Dakota.  

The party was held inside Bethany Retirement Living’s Chapel, and it was packed with friends who were reminiscing about Helene’s life and how she used to be the biggest chatterbox.  

Helene was born on 25 November 1911 on a farm near Chaffee, Cass County, North Dakota, USA.

After graduating from high school, she got her teaching certificate from Valley City State Teachers College. She was already teaching at the age of 19 while also picking up her students in a horse and buggy.  

In 1938, she married Edwin Sandvig and had no children with him. However, the couple fostered several children. After the marriage, she gave up her teaching career, and the couple focused on farming.  

In 2013, she moved into a nursing home at the age of 101. Helene currently lives in Fargo, North Dakota, USA.

She was raised in Denson Springs, but later moved to Beulah, Texas, when she was in the second grade.

In 1928, Lottie was married to Adam Sullivan with whom she had four children with. Adam was a teacher who later joined the ranks of uniformed personnels before she became a colonel after his retirement. 

Mrs. Sullivan passed away on 28 October 2019 in Carthage, Texas, USA.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Lucy Reynolds at 110 years old. She was an American supercentenarian known as the oldest living person in West Virginia.

Lucy was born on 18 October 1872 in Craig County, Virginia, USA. After her father passed away when she was 12 years old, her family moved to Roane County where she lived most of her life.

When Lucy was around 102 years old, she broke her hip. Moreover, upon her 110th birthday celebration, she was made known as one of the earliest supercentenarians in West Virginia.

Lucy Reynolds passed away on 14 July 1983 in Spencer, West Virginia, USA.

It is with a heavy heart for LongeviQuest to share that Herbert Wolding passed away at 111 years old. He was an American supercentenarian known as the oldest living man in Wisconsin at the time of his death.

Mr. Wolding founded H.O. Wolding Inc. in 1935 where he started a single-man milk route and made it grow into a large dry van truckload company with more than 320 trucks today. Trucking news platform, CDLLife, reported Herbert’s passing last week.

LongeviQuest also confirmed that Herbert Wolding passed away on 17 November 2023 at the age of 111 years old. At the time of his death, he was oldest-validated living man in Wisconsin and in the whole United States.

Born on 15 October 1912, Herbert was born to Norwegian parents and had at least one brother. He attended Amherst High School until eighth grade but never graduated. He left school to assist his family with their business.

He recently celebrated his 111th birthday in Portgage, Wisconsin, USA, on 15 October 2023. Unfortunately, Mr. Wolding passed away last week, 17 November 2023 in Nelsonville, Wisconsin, USA.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Esther Mitchener at age 111 years old.

Esther was born on 17 August 1871 in Edgerton, Johnson County, Kansas, USA. In 1873, her family relocated to Stockton, Utah, while she attended St. Mary’s Academy in Salt Lake City.

She was married to William Pym Mitchener on 30 June 1897 in Tooele, Utah. The two of them only had a daughter named Marcella who later on worked for.

When talking about longevity, she would start “I just think the Lord has bestowed upon me more than my share of excellent health.” At that time, they also had a quick meeting where the officers reported that Esther never had a chance to smoke and that she was a light speaker.

Esther passed away on 13 April 1983 in Seattle, Washington, USA. At the time of her death, she became the oldest living person in Washington.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Armida Sholar of the United States at age 111. She was born in Sumter, South Carolina, United States on 9 August 1905. Sholar worked as a desk clerk at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Sholar was a member of Starmount Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian Churches. She moved to the White Stone independent apartments in 1978, where she volunteered to tend to the rose and flower gardens. Sholar was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 4 children.

Following a hip fracture, Sholar spent 17 years in the Care Center. One of her hobbies was playing bingo, and she rarely missed playing three times each week. She had cancer twice. She smoked until the age of 103, only deciding to quit after a fall resulted in a broken hip. Despite this, Sholar occasionally indulged in smoking until 2013 when her retirement community implemented a smoking ban on the premises. At the age of 109, she had trouble hearing and seeing, but she was still lucid. On 19 November 2016, following the death of 111-year-old Ruby Clodfelter, she became the oldest known living resident of North Carolina.

Sholar passed away in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, on 4 April 2017, at the age of 111 years, 238 days. Following her death, Hester Ford (who was only six days younger) succeeded her as North Carolina’s oldest living resident. She was survived by her son Bill, 12 grandchildren, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Katie Hatton of the United States at age 114. She was born in Spanish Camp, Texas, United States on 18 December 1877. Her parents were freed slaves. As a girl, Hatton assisted her father on the farm.

Hatton went to school in the Camp Zion Community at Spanish Camp and later attended Guadalupe College in Seguin. At some point, Hatton got married and had at least three children. Hatton was a member of the Camp Zion Baptist Church for more than 75 years.

At the age of 111, she surpassed Martha King‘s final age, becoming the oldest person ever to live in Texas. Subsequently, she likely became the first person in Texas to reach the ages of 112, 113, and 114. She held this title until (at least) 8 November 1995, when her final age was surpassed by Irene Frank.

Hatton passed away in Spanish Camp, Texas, USA, on 24 January 1992. Following her death, Kate Bottom (1881–1992) became the oldest (known) living person in Texas. She was survived by her three children, 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is saddened to report that Berta Gutierrez passed away at 110 years old. She was an American supercentenarian known for being one of the oldest living residents of California, USA, at the time of her death.

Berta was born on 22 February 1913 in El Paso, Texas, United States.

At some point in her life, she relocated to Hayward, California, where she passed away on 1 November 2023.
