LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Japanese supercentenarian Hiro Fujisaku at age 111.

Hiro Fujisaku was born in Japan on 6 May 1911.

Regardless of being over 100 years old, she still worked hard in the fields while being committed to tending to her home garden. When asked about the secret of her longevity, she talked about eating plain food with a vegetable and fish-based diet.

On 4 September 2011, the mayor of Hitachinaka City visited Hiro Fujisaku at her home to celebrate her longevity.

Hiro Fujisaku passed away on 30 November 2022 in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. She was 111 years old at the time of her death.

It is with a heavy heart for LongeviQuest to share that Canada’s oldest living man, Reuben Sinclair, passed away at 111 years old.

He was born on 5 December 1911 in Lipton, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Reuben Sinclair was a Canadian supercentenarian who held the title of being the oldest living man in Canada at the time of his death. He was also recognized as the oldest living veteran of the Second World War. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.

In November 2021, he already had three living children, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

John Tinniswood, the oldest known living man in the United Kingdom, celebrated his 111th birthday on 26 August 2023. He was joined by his family and friends at The Hollies care home in Southport to celebrate with him. He was presented with a birthday card from King Charles and Queen Camilla. Tinniswood has also received several telegrams from the late Queen Elizabeth, whom he had met twice.

He was born in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, United Kingdom in 1912 – the same year as the Titanic’s tragic maiden voyage. He is a husband and a father. Prior to his retirement in 1972, Tinniswood worked as an accountant for Shell and BP. He currently lives in a care home in Southport, Merseyside, England.

Following the death of 108-year-old Harry Fransman on 25 September 2020, Tinniswood became the oldest known living man in the UK according to Oldest in Britain.

LongeviQuest is saddened to report the passing of Camilia Gonçalves. She was born in Portugal on 23 October 1911. She was a wife and a mother. Gonçalves passed away in São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil on 21 August 2023 at 111 years, 302 days. She became the oldest living Portuguese-born person following the death of 113-year-old Maria da Encarnação Nunes de Sousa on 20 July 2022.

It is with a heavy heart that LongeviQuest announces the passing of Noemia Vieira de Souza, who held the title of the oldest documented living individual in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Mrs. Vieira de Souza peacefully departed from this world on August 26, 2023, at the age of 111.

Noemia Vieira de Souza was born on April 6, 1912, in Duas Barras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She married Manoel Luiz de Souza, and the couple had 8 children.  This Rio de Janeiro resident had 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

In June 2023, with the invaluable assistance of her granddaughter Iara, LongeviQuest successfully verified her birthdate, thereby bestowing official recognition upon her as one of Brazil’s oldest living individuals. With a final age of 111 years and 142 days, she held the distinction of being the oldest known Rio de Janeiro resident.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of the first supercentenarian from South Africa, Johanna Adonis, at age 111 years old. Upon this validation, she became the first validated and undisputed supercentenarian to have died in Africa.
Johanna Adonis was born on 5 August 1907 in Greyton, Western Cape, South Africa, where she grew up on a farm. At the age of 14 years old, she dropped out of school and then looked after her father’s sheep.
When she was 16 years old, she moved to Cape Town to work as a domestic worker in Sea Point. Five years later, she married Edward Adonis, at the age of 21. They initially resided on Hope Street in Cape Town before moving to Athlone a year later. The couple did not have children of their own, but Johanna actively helped in raising her sister’s 14 children.

She lived independently after his husband passed away in 1959 up until she was 92 years old. Her family then decided that it might be dangerous for her to live alone so they moved her to her niece’s residence in Belgravia Estate. She was one of the six founding members of St George’s Church’s Anglican Women’s Fellowship.
In May 2018, she was relocated to a nursing home at Nerina Place, Bishop Lavis, Cape Town, after suffering a stroke. Since then, she had her hearing and vision deteriorated while also dealing with hypertension.
Johanna Adonis passed away on 1 February 2019 in Cape Town, Western Cape, Southern Africa. At the time of her death, she was 111 years old and the first validated supercentenarian to die in the continent of Africa.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Nina Robinson at 111 years old. She was an American supercentenarian known as the fourth-oldest living person in Texas, USA.

Nina Robinson was born on 11 November 1910 in Greenwood, Wise County, Texas, USA. She and her five younger siblings resided in Wise County most of their lives, so they have fostered an enduring bond with each other.

On 7 November 1934, Nina married Cecil Claude Robinson (1907-1996) in Love County, Oklahoma. The couple’s path crossed when Nina’s sister and Claude’s brother got married. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson had four children comprised of three daughters and a son. The family relocated to Fresno, California, but immediately returned to Texas after only a year.

Following her marriage, she dedicated herself to homemaking, farm work, and taking care of children with special needs at the Denton State School.

Nina Robinson passed away on 27 December 2021 in Decatur, Texas, USA. At the time of her death, she was 111 years and 46 days old. She was survived by her two daughters, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Helen Self at 111 years old. She was an American supercentenarian acknowledged as the oldest person to live in Montana, USA, at the time of her death.

Helen Self was born on 14 August 1909 (claimed 17 August) in Hamilton, Montana, USA. She was the youngest out of nine children and throughout the 1918 flu pandemic, she would visit neighbors to run errands with her brother.

On 28 November 1928, Helen married Bernard George Reeseman and had two children. Unfortunately, the couple had to divorce on 1 January 1946.

In May 1946, she was remarried to someone named Thomas Edison Mongar and were married for 23 years. Sadly, Thomas died due to an airplane accident while working for Montana Power Company.

On 20 May 1972, she married her third and last husband, Kenneth Ray Self. The couple traveled to Arizona, Florida, and Alaska, over the span of 20 years of staying together.

Upon celebrating her 110th birthday in August 2019, Helen became the first person to reach the age of 110 in Montana in nearly 13 years. At age 111, she became the oldest known person ever to be born in Montana. She was also the oldest living person in Montana at the time of her death.

Helen Self passed away on 29 July 2021 in Missoula, Montana, USA, at the age of 111 years and 349 days.

Tripolino Giannini is an Italian supercentenarian born on 20 August 1912 in Cecina, Tuscany, Italy. He has two sons, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In 1929, he participated in the first race of the Targa Cecina, finishing fourth. He served as a Bersaglieri.

On 26 November 2021, following the death of 109-year-old Giuseppe Venturi, he became the oldest known living man in Italy.

On 1 June 2022, following the death of 112-year-old Delio Venturotti of Brazil, he became the oldest known living Italian-born man.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Toshiko Minagawa of Japan at age 111. She was born in Japan on 16 October 1911.

Minagawa lived on her own until she was 100 years old. However, she moved into a nursing home at the age of 103. The nursing home staff described her as someone who communicated her intentions clearly and firmly. They also said that she could be strict at times, but also gentle. Her favorite foods were steak, wine, egg sandwiches, sushi, and udon.

Toshiko Minagawa passed away in Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on 9 March 2023, at the age of 111 years, 144 days. At the time of death, she was the second-oldest living person in Hiroshima Prefecture, behind Fusae Miyamoto, who was only a day older.
