Yae Yabuki (矢吹八重) was born on June 25, 1901, in Kitagata Village, Okayama Prefecture (now Kita Ward, Okayama City), Japan.
She was known for her beauty from a young age and was famously called the “Beauty of Kitagata.”
In her later years, she lived with her eldest son and his wife, receiving in-home care.
She reportedly lived her life without any major illnesses, ate a wide variety of foods, and never missed a glass of beer with dinner.
On March 7, 2012, she passed away of natural causes at home at the age of 110 years and 256 days.
At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture.
Following her passing, Masayo Okamoto of Mimasaka City became her successor.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 6 July 2013 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
