Domenica Giovannetti, the oldest living person in the region of Umbria in Italy, passed away in Spoleto on 20 December, at the age of 110 years, 248 days.
Domenica Giovannetti was born in Monteleone di Spoleto, Umbria, on 16 April 1915. She married Gino Smarrocchi from Spoleto, and together they had four daughters: Anna Rita, Erina, Ernesta, and Maria.
On 26 July 2024, following the passing of 110-year-old Armandina Cerritoni, she became the oldest living person in Umbria. Upon her own passing, it’s believed she is succeeded by Domenica Bernetti (born 20 February 1917), according to Supercentenari d’Italia. Giovannetti was also the oldest person ever to have lived or died in Umbria.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Domenica Giovannetti during this difficult time.
