BIOGRAPHY
Silvina Alves was born in Sítio Brandões, Caicó, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, on 3 November 1915.
As a young woman, she worked on farms and in hospitals in Caicó, and later moved to Natal, where she worked as a domestic servant. She was married, but later divorced.
At the time of her 110th birthday, she took no medication and maintained a simple and healthy diet. Silvina has one living sister and two living brothers, including Francisco Alves de Azevedo (b. 8 July 1929).
She currently lives with her family in Sítio Brandões, Caicó, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
