BIOGRAPHY

Mariana Effio Espinoza was born in Miraflores District, Lima Province, Peru, on 12 February 1906. Her parents were Enrique Effio Rivas (1858–1930) and Amparo Toribia Espinoza Tello (1876–1918). She had at least eight siblings.

On 29 December 1941, she married Luis Octavio Giraldo Macedo (born 1899). She had at least one son: Edmundo Rafael. She got widowed in January 1981.

Effio de Giraldo passed away in San Borja District, Lima Province, Peru on 16 December 2016 at the age of 110 years, 308 days.
