Iracema França Pedrosa was born in Santa Catarina, Brazil, on 2 June 1913. Her mother died in September 1915.
In May 1934, she married Severino Nicomedes Alves Pedrosa. Her husband was a judge, who was president of the TJSC (1960-1962) and the Regional Electoral Court of Santa Catarina (1956-1959).
