BIOGRAPHY

Gisela Lamm de Altschul was born in Boskovice (then Boskowitz), South Moravia, Czech Republic (then Austria-Hungary), on 16 April 1878. Her parents were Jakob Lamm and Rosalie (née Schlesinger) Lamm.

She married Karl/Carlos Altschul on 10 February 1907 and had traveled to Europe several times in the first half of the 20th century. The couple had at least two children: Walter, and Ines [Spanish: Inés]. She traveled to Argentina for the first time in 1910.

Lamm de Altschul died in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 13 June 1989 at the age of 111 years, 58 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Stefan Maglov, and validated by Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) on 12 May 2021. The validation was recognized by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO), who also included her to their list of validated supercentenarians.
