BIOGRAPHY

Leiber was born in Lewisburg, Ohio, USA, on 24 March 1902, to parents Fred Leiber (1855–1940) and Mary Martha Albert (1861–1948). She had five older siblings: Jesse Willis Leiber, Lola Mae Leiber (1888–1906), Irene Martha Kouts (1890–1952), Charles Edward Leiber (1893–1990) and Esther M. Rookstool (1898–1981).

Leiber never married nor had children. She owned and operated a beauty shop in the Dayton area, retiring in 1965 and moving to Florida. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg. On her 110th birthday, Mayor Kenneth W. Bradley proclaimed it Ella Ruth Leiber Day in the City of Winter Park, Florida. She drove and did crossword puzzles until she was around 100 years old.

Leiber passed away in Winter Park, Florida, USA, on 6 September 2012, at the age of 110 years, 166 days.
