Léglise passed away in Angers, Maine-et-Loire, Pays de la Loire, France, on 9 March 2021, at the age of 110 years, 189 days.
On 16 November 2020, following the passing of Alice Schaufelberger, she became the oldest living Swiss-born person. Upon her passing, she was succeeded by Marie Guerne.
At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest (known) living person in the region of Pays de la Loire, after Marie-Rose Tessier.
Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 25 May 2024. However, this validation has not yet been recognized by LongeviQuest.
