Ioana Lungu, a resident of Grozești, Mehedinți County, Romania, is celebrating her 110th birthday today, according to Actual Mehedinți.

Ioana Lungu was born in the village of Şuşiţa, Mehedinți County, Romania, on 7 April 1916. She was married to Ion Lungu, a war veteran who died on the front during World War II. They had three children: one daughter and two sons.

At present, she is the second-oldest known living woman in Romania, after Paladia Noja, and the fourth-oldest known resident, following Ilie Ciocan, Noja, and Iosif Rus. Although only Ciocan’s age has been officially validated by LongeviQuest so far, this marks the first known time in Romanian history that the country has had four living supercentenarians simultaneously.

LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Ioana Lungu on her 110th birthday.
