Jessie Gee-Shee Wong, possibly the oldest living person in Canada, passed away in Ontario on 19 January, at the age of 112 years, 126 days.
Jessie Wong was reportedly born in China on 15 September 1913. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 and later married Karl, who died in 1968. Through the marriage, she became stepmother to Peter, who passed away in 2017, and Gum Shui Tam, who died in 2010. Together, the couple had three children: Hamlet, Richard, and Pearl.
At the time of her passing, she was survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
On 25 October 2025, following the passing of Margaret Romans, she possibly became the oldest living person in Canada. However, her age has not been validated.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Jessie Wong during this difficult time.
