Dollie Berry, a resident of Culpeper County, Virginia, USA, passed away on 16 May, at the age of 112 years, 70 days, according to the Culpeper Star-Exponent.
Berry was born in Reva, Culpeper County, Virginia, USA, on 7 March 1914, to Burnette Booten and Sallie Shanks. When she was 13, her father died, and she was sent to New York to live with her aunt Mary. She attended the Textile High School in New York, where she learned how to create her own patterns. She eventually became an accomplished seamstress, fashion designer, and social worker.
In 1936, she married Arthur Berry, and the couple went on to have two children. Throughout her life, she maintained a home in Culpeper County, which she continued to visit once or twice a year, even in her old age.
