Lucia D’Amico, a resident of Rome, Italy, is celebrating her 110th birthday today, according to Il Capoluogo.
Lucia D’Amico was born in Alfedena, Abruzzo, Italy, on 7 January 1916. She grew up without a mother. At 22, she married Sirio Di Virgilio, a paver from Alfedena. The couple had three children: Piero, Santina, and Mariano. In the 1960s, the family moved to Rome’s Finocchio district, joining many other Alfedenese who had also emigrated. When Sirio passed away in 1988, Lucia continued to care for her family on her own.
By the age of 110, she had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she credited healthy eating and a life free of vices.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Lucia D’Amico on her 110th birthday.
